As per our post from Jan 28th, the front door has been undergoing some major transformations over the pat few months. This week our friendly builders were back and one of their tasks was to strip back the front door to it's original wood and then varnish it. Yesterday, after about 8 coats of paint stripper and going through two different greens, a brownish colour and a red, they got down to the original white. As of just now (10am) Brent has given up on the stripper (we were almost getting concerned about his health with inhaling so many solvents) and is attacking it with a sanding machine. It seems that is the original door and is made of about 5 different layers of different types of wood. We will post a picture of the finished version once it finally appears!
